In a recent video on Channels Television, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed deep concern over the ongoing political unrest in the state, stating that it is overshadowing his administration’s developmental efforts.
In a recent statement, Fubara emphasized the toll that constant crises are taking on the perception of his achievements.
Governor Fubara pointed to the frequent disruptions caused by various groups, which he said are undermining the state’s progress. He noted that the unrest is not limited to one faction but involves multiple sources, including different political factions and even security agencies.
According to him, “What is important to me is letting Rivers State be normal. With all the problems we’re having, the wonderful jobs I’m doing in this state are not being seen because of the crisis. It’s only when I come out and tell people, “I’m doing this or that,” that they realize what is going on in the state. Because the only thing everyone is hearing is one crisis or another.”
“If it’s not from some set of members, then it’s from another group of people. If it’s not from this group, it’s from one area or one security agency. You know, let me tell you, there is a report I just got now that, with what is happening, some persons have already been penciled in for arrest because they are close to me. I might not be surprised by tomorrow when you hear their names have been declared wanted. I can tell you.”
