The Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs has launched the Performance Management System in its bid to uphold the highest standards of service delivery and continuous service improvement in line with the renewed hope agenda of the present administration.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ibiene Roberts, who superintended the signing of the Performance Contract on Performance Management System by Directors and Heads of Unit on behalf of the Honourable Minister, Rt. Honourable Zaphannia Bitrus Jisalo, MFR today in Abuj, said: “The concept of Performance Contract is not new, but it is a powerful tool in ensuring transparency, accountability and efficiency within our organization “.
According to her, “In this rapidly evolving world, our responsibilities are diverse, and the expectations of the public and stakeholders are constantly changing. To meet these expectations, we must set clear targets, monitor our progress, and take decisive actions when necessary. This Performance Contract will serve as a roadmap that aligns our efforts, allowing us to work cohesively towards our common goals”.
Speaking further, she said the Performance Contract is not only a binding agreement but a living document, “we must regularly review and adapt to changing circumstances. It is not a mere formality, but a tool that will guide us towards greater efficiency, better service delivery, and ultimately, the realization of our departments ‘mission”.
Theta Alpha Consult Ltd in collaboration with Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation provided the training for Directors and the Core Team drawn from every department to ensure sustainability and adherence to the tenets of Performance Management System.
The highlight of the occasion was the signing of the Performance Contract by the Directors and Heads of Unit.
The signing of the Performance Contract is expected to be cascaded down to all cadre and levels of staff in the Ministry.
