The Nigerian Labour Congress NLC, Jigawa state chapter has joined the nation wide protest in solidarity ASUU urge the federal Government to bring an end to the five month srike assured that if the federal government did not take any action, other industrial organization will joined the strike
While reading his speech at Government house the NLC chairman Jigawa state chapter commarade Alhassan Maigatari said “we are here to present our massage to federal government that enoughp is enoughp for federal government to bring an end of ASUU strike which is trying to Cripled the education of our children’s’ he stated.
He however, ask the Jigawa state governor to intervain for the strike to come to an end.
Alhassan lamented that the NLC Jigawa state chapter has expressed displeasure over the attitude of the federal government on ASUU industrial strike, he therefore appealed to the federal government as a matter of urgency to bring an end of the strike for children to resume their studies.
During the protest students of higher institutions of learning and members of the labour union were seen carrying placards and banner boldly written Enoug is Enough to Federal government others wrote when injustice became law and resistance became a duty, others wrote we are on strike to save education.
In his response the Jigawa state Governor while recieving the protesters in Government house Dutse today said ” I have recieved your massage and I will deliver your massage to Mr President directly and I assure you something will be done to address the problem.
He urged them to be Patient and pray to God to bring an end to the strike describing it as a clamity that need prayer.
Badaru urged the NLC members to also pray for the safty of the nation.
