Sudanese Air Force Launches Operation ‘Knockdown Strike’ to Dislogde RPF

Smoke billows above residential buildings in Khartoum on April 16, 2023, as fighting in Sudan raged for a second day in battles between rival generals. Violence erupted early on April 15 after weeks of deepening tensions between army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, commander of the heavily-armed paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with each accusing the other of starting the fight. Sudanese Air Force has launched an operation under the name of “Knockdown Strike” aimed to annihilate the Rapid Support Forces (Deqlu). More than 16 Mig and Sukhoy warplanes are currently flying in the sky of Khartoum. Several RSF forces were said to have been killed in Air Bombardment

A statement from the office of the Spokesman of the Armed Forces said that convoy of the RSF was bombarded at Kafoury in the renewed air raids by the Sudanese Army.

Meanwhile, in a statement released by the General Command of the Armed Forces, said, “The enemy gathered in the capital to carry out the conspiracy until the morning of April 14. Huge troops with large equipment gathered in the crowd of (15) fighters, (4) ammunition fighters, (4) armoured soldiers’ carriers and (4) double cab box trucks armed with machine guns.

“During 14 days of fighting, our forces were able to reduce its combat capabilities by 30-4% of its combat capabilities that they have gathered to kidnap the state of Sudan, confiscate its decision and destroy its armed forces.

“Movements of advanced rebel military reinforcements were thwarted, and another force coming from the north-west border stopped the progress of another force on board (3) large trucks and (4) Landcruiser combat carts heading towards Kerry, and a third group aboard (4) combat vehicles heading from Baqir to Mount Aulia.

“Our monitoring of enemy movements confirms his continued attempts to strengthen his position on the ground and that our forces continue to counter these movements strongly.

“The country inherited a heavy burden because of the mistake of the strategic obsolete regime by forming a quick support militia. The Sudanese state is now paying the high price for sabotaging the country, terrifying and looting the citizens.

“We assure our citizens that he will not concede in achieving his aspirations in not turning back the clock, and we will not allow the country to again distort its military structure except through the gate of the Sudanese Armed Forces, no matter how high the cost is.”
