TCN Management led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TCN, Engr. Dr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz today, undertook an on-the-spot assessment of the vandalized Tower No. 104, along Odukpani/Ikot Ekpene 330kV transmission line in Oku Iboku Community, Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. This was contained in a statement signed by Ndidi Mbah, GM, Public Affairs.
According to the statement, the vandalized tower caused a sudden loss of 400MW from the grid causing its collapse on Friday, 8th April 2022. The grid has since been restored.
To avoid a repeat of this incident, the TCN has appealed to host communities to assist it in the fight against vandalism of the nation’s collective assets, by reporting suspicious activities around its operations to TCN offices or security operatives.
