Tinubu Cancels Birthday Celebration Over Abuja-Kaduna Rail Attack

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has cancelled his 13th Colloquium event.

The event which usually hold annually is organized to celebrate Tinubu’s birthday.

However, Tinubu who turned 70th today has reportedly cancelled the birthday event.

According to report gathered, Eko Hotel and Suites, venue of the colloquium was already filled to the brim with dignitaries Tinubu took to the podium to announce cancellation of the event.

The Presidential aspirant said he got informed of the train incident which has claimed scores of lives.

Tinubu said the tragedy called for sober reflection and not for celebration.

Tinubu stressed that it would not be unreasonable for him as a statesman to be celebrating when such a tragedy had befallen the nation.

“For me to be here celebrating, dancing and enjoying myself, does not speak of me as a senior citizen of this country. I asked that the cleric should to go and pray. this event should not be holding,” the Nations quoted Tinubu as saying.

“I have consulted with people you see around me here, they have agreed with me, I have subscribed myself to their suggestion that this event be cancelled. We pray for the souls of those that departed prematurely, we pray that God will help us to win the warn against terrorists and set Nigeria on the right part,” Tinubu added.
