Tinubu Meets Lawan, Yahaya Bello, Others to Reconcile With Aggrieved Party Members

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential flag bearer Bola Tinubu, has met with five of the aspirants in the presidential primaries held in Abuja.

Tinubu met with his contenders in a bid to reconcile aggrieved members and form a formidable team ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The former Governor of Lagos State won the APC Presidential primary by a landslide on Wednesday with seven aspirants stepping down for him.

He polled 1,271 votes to beat the likes of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who polled 235 votes, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who scored 316 votes, and Senate President Ahmed Lawan who polled 152 votes.

The seven aspirants who stepped down are Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa,  Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Dimeji Bankole, Uju Ohanenye and Senator Godswill Akpabio.

On Thursday, Tinubu met with Lawan, Bello, Akpabio, Amosun and Amaechi in Abuja, data after the APC Special Convention.
