Twelve Confirmed Dead as School Building Collapse in Plateau

Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other security agency making effects to rescue those trapped in a collapsed school building in Jos, Plateau state where 12 persons have already been confirmed dead.

Several others were injured in the collapse at the time of filing this report.

The building which houses Saints Academy, Busa Buji, Jos North Local Government Area of the state, came down on students and their teachers on Friday morning.

There was no reported earlier warning of any structural defect in the building and witnesses could not link the collapse to the weather either.

NEMA officials and officials of the school said the debris may have trapped more than 70 pupils.

Meanwhile, efforts are still ongoing to rescue those trapped under the rumble.
