The police in Adamawa state have apprehended two men identified as Abubakar Abakar, 48 and Sani Garba, 50, for allegedly defrauding a young lady, identified as Margret James, disposing her of the sum of N1, 000, a wedding gown, handset and 3 pairs of trouser at the Jimeta Ultra Modern market.
According to reports, the 24-year-old lady whose sister was about to get married, was defrauded after meeting one of the suspects, Usman at gate 2 of the market where he greeted and asked her about the location of a shop.
While she was answering, Usman allegedly asked her to comb her hair and bury the broken ones(hair) anytime she is about to sleep as well as keep reading Psalm 35, because according to him, she has a lot of enemies.
Shortly after Usman left, his accomplice, Garba, rushed to the victim and suggested to her that they should humble themselves and follow Usman to collect his phone number so as to consult him for prayers.
After both of them met Usman, he assured them that they have enemies and that he will mention their names if they would not drag the enemies to court.
It was at this point that he asked Garba to hand over his polythene bag to the lady and embark on counting electric poles. Garba went and counted 7 electric poles and returned.
Thereafter, the lady was also asked to give Garba all her belongings and count the poles just like the way he did. Furthermore, they advised her not to look back while on her way to count the electric poles.
Margret, gave all her valuables including a wedding gown, handset, and handbag containing the sum of N1, 000, to Garba and started trekking while counting the electric poles.
