Three police officers has been assassinated in front of a police station along the Enugu-Abakaliki highway in Ebonyi State, by Some Unknown gunmen.
According to report gathered the officers were killed by the gunmen during an attack on a roadblock mounted in front of the station on Monday.
It was also learnt that the police officer, stopped a hummer bus conveying the gunmen, and in turn, opened fire on the officers.
The remains of the three police officers, have been deposited at a mortuary in Abakaliki, the state capital.
However, the spokesperson of the state Police Command, Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident to reporters on Tuesday.
Speaking further, she stated that more details would be released soon after ascertaining the number of casualities.
