We need a leader, Nigeria is at War – Shehu Sani

The insecurity challenges that is been experienced in the country at the moment has triggered from Senator Shehu Sani former Kaduna Central lawmaker.

Senator Sani, who took to his Twitter handle on Thursday morning, lamented that the terrorist groups have declared a war against Nigeria by attacking institutions of the state.

He submitted that the terrorists are no longer attacking soft targets but are going against military formations, police stations and other symbols and institutions of the state.

He noted that with what is going on, Nigeria needs a leader.

He wrote: “THE Attacks on military formations, Police Stations, Prisons, Election commission offices are attacks on symbols, institutions and pillars of the state. They are not soft targets. The nation is at war with multiples of organised guerrilla terror groups aiming at power. WE NEED A LEADER!”

The submission by Sani comes only a few hours after terrorists on Tuesday night attacked the Kuje Medium Correctional Center in Abuja and took away many of their colleagues.

The Minister of Defence Bashir Magashi while commenting on the attack said all terrorists held in the facility have escaped.

Similarly, some daring terrorists attacked President Muhammadu Buhari’s advance convoy in his home state of Katsina on Tuesday night.

The development was confirmed to newsmen by the president’s spokesman, Garba Shehu.

Though Shehu noted that his principal was not in the convoy at the time of the attack but security operatives and an advance team heading for Daura, Buhari’s hometown, ahead of Sallah, were attacked near Dutsinma in Katsina.

The recent developments have signalled a new low in the safety belief of Nigerians as the terrorists continue to attack many parts of the nation with Nigerians calling on the government to wake up to its responsibility and tackle the criminals.
