Why i want to take over from Sanwo-Olu in Lagos – Labour Party’s Rhodes-Vivour Explains

The Lagos State Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has explained that his ambition to become the next governor of Lagos State is driven by the zeal to create a new Nigeria for the youths.

According to him, though the project is bigger than him or any other individual, he believes it is very possible.

The LP candidate narrated that he believes once Lagos State is taken, a new Nigeria which is the dream of the youths would materialize over time.

He said the focus is to lift Lagosians up and in turn lift Nigerians up. He added that the dream is to have a Lagos State where the inner roads will work, where people will have quality healthcare, water, quality public education, and other amenities.

reports Rhodes-Vivour made the disclosure at a meeting tagged, “Youth O’ Clock” in Ikeja on Thursday.

In his words, “We know that the goal and what we are going through is far bigger than I and any of us.

“It is a project that will lift the lives of millions of Lagosians up and in turn lift the lives of many Nigerians up. It is a project to free Lagos from the shackle hold of tyranny.

“A Lagos State where the inner roads will work, where our people will have quality healthcare, water, quality public education, not one where parents keep struggling trying to find how to pay school fees for their children to go to private school.”

Rhodes-Vivour called on the youths of the country to bring about positive change with the power of their votes as he argued that a new standard must be set for the politicians.

He urged the youths to come out and vote massively in the March 18 governorship elections.

“We are already 90 per cent there. We need to bring this thing home. I want you to understand that the moment we take Lagos, this fire of a new type of politics will engulf Nigeria.

“You start to find politicians that mean well for the people, that can articulate their vision and positive about change.

“No more status quo, we are changing the narrative to have a new Lagos and a new Nigeria. We will set a new standard,” the LP candidate said.
