Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Shed Tears on National TV – [Video]

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate, reportedly shed tears on Sunday (today) during ‘The People’s Townhall’ organized by Channels Television.

Raye24reporters understands that Yusuf Datti and his principal, Peter Obi, were live on the television’s Town Hall series on Sunday to discuss their plans for the country if elected as president and vice president of Nigeria.

Yusuf Datti, however, got emotional on the live programme and broke down in tears as he spoke on essential matters.

The programme, scheduled for two hours, was spearheaded in conjunction with the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room and its partners.

Obi and Yusuf Datti Obi were expected to speak further on what they have in stock for Nigerians in the areas of security, health, education, and other major areas of concern.

Raye24reporters also gathered that asides from the LP flagbearer and his running mate, other major presidential candidates, the likes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and their respective running mates have graced the townhall series earlier.

Sharing his experience since he joined politics, Yusuf Datti said: “Me and my family have been paying the price in my attempt to rescue Nigeria. They sent all sorts of people after me. I would have been a lot happier if only they stopped at me as an individual.

But you know, the thing that I was able to sort with the presidential and vice presidential candidate, I ended up suffering from a much lesser level.

“35 years ago at least, our Dad of blessed memory passed away. No one has ever insulted him until I joined elections for the presidency.

“No one has ever doesn’t it? It doesn’t happen anywhere in the world. You don’t insult people’s parents or families. It’s a huge price for anyone to pay,” Datti said crying on the live programme.
