Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, wife of Zamfara State governor, has promised to sponsor the education of an eight-year-old boy whose father was killed by yet to be identified persons.
Zamfara first lady, received the young lad in her office on Thursday and promised to enrol him in military school if he shows interest in studying.
She also promised to render financial assistance to the boy and his mother.
Earlier, Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Development Affairs, Dr Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, pledged the state government’s support for the boy.
Raye24reporters recalls that, sometime last month, a video which trended online showed an eight-year-old boy expressing grief over the killing of his father and vowing to take revenge.
The governor’s wife, while receiving the boy on Thursday, urged him to forget about seeking revenge.
