JISEPA Discourage Indiscriminate Felling of Trees in Jigawa

    Jigawa state Government has established a law that will discourage indiscriminate felling of trees across the 27 local government areas in the state with a view to safeguard the environment .

    This was disclosed by the managing director JISEPA, Jigawa state Environmental protection Agency Engr Lawan Ahmed in an exclusive interview with our reporter in Dutse.

    He said the agency has received report of incessant felling of trees for unauthorised logging uprooting of trees for fire wood and charcoal making ravaging the trees which protect our environment .

    The managing director categorically said the agency has ban the cutting down of trees across the 27 local govt area of the state and suspend all activities charcoal making without the agency license permit

    He therefore call on the general public to report the activities of those criminal element to the nearest JISEPA office within the 27 council in the state or any forestry office in their area .

    The manager also solicit the support and cooperation from the good people of Jigawa state
