Obasanjo Meets With SDP Leaders Over 2023 Election

It was gathered that the Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo held a closed-door meeting with the leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). The meeting took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL in Abeokuta, on Wednesday.

According to Vanguard, the discussion that exhumed between the former president and the party leaders, was centred on the state of the nation and the way out reports.

Those that attended the meeting include the National Chairman of the Party Dr Olu Agunloye, Ambassador Yemi Faroumbi and other top party chieftains.

Agunloye was a two time Minister under President Obasanjo as Minister of State Defence (Navy) and later full Minister of Power and Steel while Dr Faroumbi was the Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines, also under the President Obasanjo regime.

Confirming the meeting of top party leaders and Obasanjo, Dr Olu Agunloyensaid “Yes. Dr Faroumbi and I met the former President Obasanjo in private.

This is in line with our party’s agenda in promoting a democratic platform to foster justice, equity and equality in the political landscape in Nigeria.”

Dr Agunloye however refused to disclose specifically what the leaders discussed behind closed doors with the former president

But vanguard learnt that the party leaders would be meeting again with Obasanjo at a yet to be decided date.
