Ringim council sack chairman over misconduct

The Ringim local government councils in Jigawa state have announced the impeachment of the local government  chairman, Alhaji Shehu Sule Udi.

This was contained in a notification letter sent to the local council chairman, which was made available to our reporter in Dutse the Jigawa state capital.

The impeachment letter was signed by eight out of ten councillors of the local government council accusing the local council boss for his in ability in “inclusion of the legislative in awarding contracts to the contractors and payment, illegal renting partitions of local government council’s lands and farm lands and sales of 75 corner shops in Ringim market”.

The councillors also accused Alhaji Shehu Sule Udi of “Cash withdrawal without due process, refusals to honour council’s members invitations and embezzling of the N57m relief fund received by the local council”.

According to the letter “by the virtue of our position and power conferees upon us by the relevant provisions of Jigawa state local government law and 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria (as amended) do hereby resolve to remove you immediately from office as chairman of Ringim local government council”. it reads
